Review :
There are nine short stories in this book, all of which are based on the theme of adultery. Each of the stories shows different types adultery – all the stories are diverse in spite of being based on the same theme. The first story ‘Tickets Are Done’ has an open ending. This story can be interpreted in different ways. ‘The Vacation’ is the story of Radhika Bose who feels trapped in her present life and lies to her family to go on a secret escapade. ‘Tomorrow Is Cloudy’ is a very touching story and is one of my favourites. It is about ex lovers who meet at the airport by chance after ten years. In the story ‘Clicks’, a young man photographing Mumbai during the monsoon accidentally clicks his fiancé Shrutika, with a man in a café. Intrigued, Ekalavya tries to unravel their story through his pictures. This story teaches us how our over thinking leads to a lot of problems in our relationships. This is a beautiful story. In ‘The Whore And The Wife’, a bored escort starts a text conversation with her client’s wife, not knowing that by dawn, they will end up empowering each other. The concept of the story is good, but I found many loopholes in the story. ‘Weekends’ is an eccentric story about the couple Kratika and Devang. In ‘The Flight Is On Time’, Siya Mishra writes an explosive email to her husband Ram Mishra after he questions her character, and leaves behind a shocker of a parting gift. This is the story of the liberation of a woman with a twist! I really liked this story. The eighth story, ‘Children’ is a heart touching story about Priyanjali and Shayan who become lonely and melancholic after they lose their respective children in an accident. I felt that the story ‘On Bed With Strangers’ was weird and I did not like it much. Overall, it is a very different kind of short story collection. The theme is unique and the stories have unexpected story lines. It is a light but entertaining read.
