For Milli Bajwa, life is at a stand-still. Grounded in the Chandigarh airport where she works day after day, she watches flights leaving for destinations she knows she'll never visit. Loveless and luckless, she would rather bury her nose in a book than face her grim reality. And then, on a whim, she swipes right on a new dating app, and finds the man of her dreams - someone who can sweep her off her feet and teach her how to fly. But the mysterious and charming Karan Singhania has secrets of his own, and a heart damaged in more ways than one. This is the story of two people about to find out how far they are willing to go for the promise of true love. This is the story of hope and joy in times of heartache and trial. Of finding the perfect person in imperfect situations. And of love's power to carry us through our darkest times.
This book has the usual poor girl meets rich boy theme. They both meet each other at the beginning of the book but at that time they do not know each other and later, this incident is never mentioned in the book. The book focuses more on the life of Milli and her suffering rather than Karan and his lonely life. There is no clear mention about Karan's wife/girlfriend after Milli comes into his life. This is a love story in the age of technology - most of the book is about how they both fall in love through texts and calls. This book would have been cheesy and unbearable if the author's style of writing was not so brilliant. He makes us fall in love with Milli and Karan and their not-so-perfect love story with his writing. A few facts were a little unbelievable and at the end, a little more about Milli's mother could also have been included. Karan's disease is not completely explained and leaves some confusion. Also, it is unclear as to why Karan is initially reluctant to reveal his face to Milli as he is described as good looking. The usual cliche of love triangle is present. All those who love romantic novels, be sure to pick up this book.
Rating : 3.9/5
