Review:
Amaya Kapoor is a Delhi-based intellectually inclined thirty-five-year-old single, financially independent and sexually liberated woman, who wants to open a 'boutique bookstore' and live life on her own terms-single and content. She comes across Rohan while playing Scrabble online, and they soon get chatting; enjoying each other's company without the usual baggage face-to-face interactions bring. Using the premise 'text is the new talk', the book highlights fun text conversations between them, that are instrumental in connecting their worlds. Amaya and Rohan become an integral part of each other's lives even before they realize it, and decide to meet. This book is the journey of what happens to the virtual relationship when they meet in the real world.
Amaya's father is in the publishing industry and she wants to open a 'boutique bookstore'. Throughout the book, she works towards her goals and it is very interesting to read about her bookstore and how she designs it. She is a sexually liberated woman and we can see how her thoughts are different from the conventional norms of the society. Rohan's character is slightly mysterious and different from the usual Prince charming. It is a complicated love story but quite enjoyable. It shows how in the present era, people fall in love through texts and how it leads to complicated emotions and relationships. The writing style of the author is commendable. The text conversations between the protagonists is witty and well written. The story is predictable but the complex storyline with more characters and slight twists make it interesting. Emotions of the characters have been portrayed well in the book. If you are looking for an interesting new generation romantic novel, be sure to pick up this book.
