Name Of The Book : Let Me Lie
Author : Clare Mackintosh
Publisher : Hachette India
Year : 2018
Category : Fiction
Review:
One year ago, Caroline Johnson chose to end her life brutally : a shocking suicide planned to match that of her husband just months before. Their daughter, Anna, has struggled to come to terms with their loss ever since. Now with a baby of her own, Anna misses her mother more than ever and starts to question her parents' death. But by digging up their pasts, she'll put her future in danger. Sometimes it's safer to let things lie.
Anna does not believe that her parents committed suicide. So she approaches the police to reopen the case and investigate the death of her parents. What she discovers as she digs deeper will not let her live unaffected. The book is a crime thriller, and from the very beginning there are a lot of twists. The book keeps taking unexpected turns till the end. At the end of each unexpected plot twist, we will think that we have figured out everything but there will be more surprises. The plot and characters have a lot of depth. Once I picked up this book, I was unable to put it down until I completed the book. The writing style of the author is very captivating. The cover of this book is beautiful and relevant to the theme. However, towards the very end, I got a little bored because the book was quite lengthy. The ending of the story was a little dramatic. This book could be made into a Hollwood thriller. If you love crime thrillers which will keep you hooked till the end, make sure to pick up this book.
Rating : 4.2/5
